Homebound Education: Best Practices for District Implementation
In school districts across the country, students face health and other issues that cause them to miss school for weeks and sometimes months. Homebound education is the solution for students to continue with their education and keep on track for graduation, while dealing with their medical situation.
There are many challenges for school districts to implement homebound programs and ensure the students continue to receive quality education. In this webinar, hear how the Anderson School District Five in South Carolina implemented homebound education, the challenges they faced, how they addressed them, and the results they have seen.
Guest:
Tripp Dukes, assistant superintendent, Anderson School District Five, S.C.
This webinar will be moderated by Kim Spencer, director, Homebound Education/Alternative Learning, K12.

Who:  Ahren Hoffman, CTRS
When:   Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 4:00 pm (Eastern Time)
What:  Ask the Expert:  Holiday Helpers:  Toys and Games for Children with ADHD & Cognitive Differences

What is a good gift for a child affected by ADHD? How can families select toys and activities to help the holidays be more enjoyable? How can a friend or family member evaluate the many choices lining the toy aisle this time of year to find a toy that captures a child's imagination and allows her to readily interact with it?
ADHD and other cognitive impairments can affect how a child plays and the enjoyment he finds in particular toys. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Ahren Hoffman, of Toys"R"Us partner Lekotek, will discuss how to choose toys and recreational materials for children affected by ADHD during this holiday season and throughout the year.
Anyone who has the opportunity to buy gifts for children affected by ADHD will find this to be an informative and helpful webinar on toys and activities for differently-abled children.
